Texas Local Arrest Records

Texas public records are opened to the local people including Texas Arrest Records. This was done in accordance to the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act. One would have an arrest record if he/she has committed a crime.

One will be surprised with the number of information that can be seen on an arrest records in Texas. First, the personal information of the involved individual can be found such as the name and the aliases used along with the address residence and date of birth. The next things that can be found on the file are the details about the arrest. This includes the reason crime committed by the individual along with the date and place where the arrest was done. Also, when the individual pleads to drop charges given are indicated on the file. Finally, the information about the one who requested the file is also available on the document.

Arrest records in Texas are used in a number of ways. Employers would request for the files of their employees to conduct a random background check. This allows them to make sure that the people that work for them have good intentions. This is very helpful to prevent future problems in the workplace. There are some who would personally check their own files. By doing so, one would know about the information indicated of the record. One can also request to expunge the information on it. Many would request to expunge or hide their records to avoid problems in job applications.

The act of retrieving a public record in Texas has no charge at all; however, since the retrieval process takes time and effort, a $15 service fee is needed in order to get a copy of the arrest record of an individual. The fee would cover all the materials used in the retrieval process as well as the effort and the computer program that was used. One can only view his/her personal arrest file. Authorized individuals such as the employers and government agencies can obtain the file once they can secure a court order.

Aside from going to the Texas Department of Public Safety, one can obtain the arrest record through third party companies. These third party companies are authorized to get the records for you however, addition charges has to be paid.

Going to the Internet to obtain a copy of an arrest record is also possible. This method is faster and a lot cheaper. Online search can be done starting at $3 per copy. A free criminal arrest records search is also possible. However, the results of a free search may not be as accurate compared to the paid search.
