Boosting Conversion Performance of Your Ecommerce Business

By Terese Steinbach

The general term for engaging in business activities on the web are collectively called, ecommerce. How successful you are at this just depends on many factors, and no matter what you'll need to be dedicated to it. The thing about this is you can make money, you may fail several times but don't give up. We'll outline three approaches to an ecommerce business, but keep in mind there's a lot to learn.

Dont forget to ask your customers for reviews because getting people to review your products as well as the experience they have shopping with you is very important. You can get these from customers of yours, but that means you need to have them in the first place. Never steal product reviews from other sites because that can create some copyright problems. So don't get overly concerned about this, and just do some good research and do your own. You may have to do a work around or get creative with this part of the marketing.

Test out your site with and without a header graphic and see which works better - testing is the only way to find out about this. Never choose a graphic for use in the header that is way off-topic or something like that.

You can easily outsource this and get it done faster and probably better looking unless you're good with graphics. Remember that your site has to make an immediate positive effect on people who are there for the first time.

If you want to be successful with ecommerce, then learn about how to track your visitors and then what to do with that data. One of the most important pieces of data is your bounce rate, and you must lower that as much as you can. If you are not getting optins or anything else, then tracking will help you do that - so this is critically important. You will see the hot spots and where people may decide they've had enough and leave. Creating ecommerce sites is no big deal, and you can find total packages that make it easier than ever. If you arent careful, however, it can also become quite complicated and tricky. So keep on reading and learning about it and there are other articles we've written on this topic. Then, as you work every day, you will be sure to come up with other things that will help set you apart, sell more products and earn more money.
