Bold And Fun Styles For Trendy Tops For Juniors

By Emilia Espinoza

Fashions for children are largely dependent on what happens in adult ready to wear collections. They take plenty of ideas from fashion weeks, but there is also a side of kids' fashion that is independent of the rest of the aesthetic world. This is mainly due to the fact that children's clothing demands boldness, fun and brightness. The trendy tops for juniors for the coming seasons will be covered in bright designs.

Polka dots, stripes and bows will be stitched onto girlish garments in similar ways to those of adult collections. The summer's hippest fabric is lace, but for children it will be daintier. It will be used as a bottom layer that will be visible just beneath the hems of shirts. Pinafore tops will be layered over shirts and worn with short leggings. Layers will be mixed with lace that adds interest to hemlines.

Little girls will always love roses, particularly if they are pink. This season, flowers are stitched onto garment necklines and worn with tulle. The pop art trend is removing pastels from girls' wardrobes in favor of bright primary shades with iconic commercial prints.

Toddler tees and infant body suits are being designed in keeping with the pop art trend. The sense of humor of these garments is important. Humorous phrasing will be seen on items that hint at having an urban edge.

Florals have become more finely designed and artistic. Roses will be printed onto wide A line tops and worn over trousers. Opposing hues will be combined. Pink and green will be seen together. Girls' tops will be unstructured, long and A line, similar to the cuts of untailored dresses. Lace will be layered beneath them, and enormous lengths of tulle will be used for volume.

The rock and roll fashion that has become such an important feature in skate wear for adults is changing the way older children dress. The Eighties rocker wears neon prints with slogan tees and black denim. Palettes are electric, and studded leather is only slightly toned down for the preadolescent fashionista.

Colored denim has been resurrected from the Eighties. Double denim trends mean that chambray and jeans shirts will be combined with denim trousers. New weaves and washes have been developed to lend a Seventies flavor to garments. Color blocking will be worn on T shirts and button downs. Neon will form accents on clothing for girls and boys.

Contrasting colors are bold, but fluorescent accents create a more stunning aesthetic for T shirts. Neon accents will be used on print on print combinations. Combining disparate prints is far from simple, but young trend setters will adore creating such vibrant outfits.

Stripes are being seen in styles that are reminiscent of jail prints as well as regatta styles. These can be used on bright cottons, but the most fashionable way to wear them is with chambray and denim. Basic garments that are generally worn in khaki, stone and navy are being covered in tropical prints instead. Trendy tops for juniors will also be seen in layered ruffles.
