Citalopram is a common drug widely used to treat major depressive and chronic depressive disorders. The most popular brand name of this medication is Celexa.

Citalopram belongs to a group of drugs classified as selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. These are the most up to date and most popular types of medications for depressive disorders.
