7 Fun Summer Activities That Will Get Your Kids Out In The Sun!

By Richardo Manning

Before you rocket off to make plans for some traditional, racy bachelorette party, you may want to stop a second and think about if that's what everyone really wants. A lot of party-planners just assume that you have to go to a strip bar, get drunk, and do embarrassing things.

Playing outside is good for kids. They get to explore and interact with their environment in a way that they just can't when they're cooped up inside. Here in Utah we've got some of the most stunning landscapes in the world, and it'd be a shame if your kids weren't out enjoying it at all opportunities.

It is important to understand that for most children, the fat that they have on their body is actually necessary. Some children don't even grow out of their body fat until they reach their pre-teens. On rare occasions obesity may be caused by a medical condition that your doctor will diagnose, and most parents are aware of these types of things from an early point in the child's development.

With technological advances and the advent of the television, children have begun to spend more and more time inside either in front of the TV or playing video games. This increase in and development of a sedentary lifestyle and habits is one of the leading factors in childhood obesity.

When your kids help you plant a garden, they'll learn all kinds of lessons on science, hard work, and delayed rewards. A garden can supply you with a whole summer full of activities, from planting the seeds all the way to cooking the food you've grown.

As you brainstorm ideas, no doubt you'll come up with some great, personal ideas. But before you all take off to go zip lining in Costa Rica, remember that there are a lot of practical things that you need to consider as well to throw a no-regrets bachelorette party.

As you make up your list of guests, be sure to communicate with the bride-to-be. Since this night is about her, she should be surrounded by the people she most wants there. And considering that young, single adults have crazy schedules, you'll want to make sure you know who has to be there and schedule the party so they can make it.

Any parent that is concerned about their child's weight should tread carefully. Your first step should always be to consult your child's pediatrician. You want to know immediately if the weight gain is the result of a genetic or other medical condition that needs to be diagnosed and addressed.

Getting dirt under their fingernails is as important for kids' development as eating their vegetables. A patch of dirt and some shovels can occupy a child's entire day-add some water and they'll be having the time of their young lives. Just don't be afraid of letting them get dirty. Really dirty.

Find some cool rocks and paint faces on them. You can make a whole rock family, complete with rock pets.
