Was CBS Wrong To Call A Player "Down Syndrome Baller"?

By Andrew Thomas

CBS has published this video below, released on Youtube with a short write-up, titled - Should Disability Baller Have Gotten SpecialTreatment? The report quoted couple of only negative comments from Youtube, out of practically 41,000 views, which have accumulated in just few days. These comments created fundamentally the entire write-up with a question at the end: "was it incorrect to offer him a break?" No writer's name, behind this article was pointed out either. Lets teach CBS To become Respectful - It truly is "A Basketball player With Down Syndrome"

This really is a very good example of poor journalism. Initially, CBS let me ask you, a query. What's a "Down Syndrome Baller"? How about a basketball player with Down syndrome? Why is CBS attempting to define this boy by his chromosomal situation. Are we not attempting to get away from labeling persons in a negative way? I wonder what would occur if CBS began defining people today be their behavior, by their appearance, by the nation of origin, by their height, their culture, and so on. I do not have to go on. You understand, what I'm looking to say. Down Syndrome Education is Necessary - Beginning With CBS

Why, giving a great deal of coverage for the couple of unfavorable comments from uninformed teenagers? Wasn't this a great opportunity to suit your needs CBS to clarify what Down syndrome is, what challenges the persons with Down syndrome need to face?

Simply to get to this moment of becoming a part of the game on a basketball court with other players, and scoring a three points basket on top of that, Is Outstanding! A Display Of A great Learning Ability of the Game

A Basketball Player With Down Syndrome

Does it matter what the score was? Does it matter if Scotty "traveled"? Or stepped on the line? Or that the defense gave him a "break"? No, naturally Not. It truly shows, how supportive each of the teams, also the empire and also the coaches were! It really shows Scotty's superior poise and shooting technique. He definitely place an awesome work in understanding the game.

When we all come together like this, for another human being, human race is at its best, no doubt about it. This brief video has given me with a bigger thrill than the final playoffs game between the Celtics (winners) and the Lakers in 2008. I do not think any other basketball game was as exiting as this one and we are talking, four seconds of play only beacause, Scotty Lubkeman entered the game with 4 seconds left of the game.

I hope you did like, what you have seen right here in this small clip. Please leave me your thoughts after watching this video. I was so uplifted and so moved by this brief clip and so was the crowd! CBS apparently was not.
