There is no easy way of coping with the pain caused by separation or losing someone that is dearly loved. Be cautious and give enough care to oneself both emotionally and physically. This is where self love is needed the most and it is not selfish for one to do it. Do things that makes you as an individual relax like exercise and so on. Treat yourself with food that promotes comfort and try keeping oneself out of huge decision just yet.

There is no room for alcohol and drugs because all of this will just make things worse. Try thinking of the effects this would give to kids if they knew. Remember that they are also going through the same grieving.

Instead of resorting to such stuff, learn to heal with the kids. Sometimes they are the only thought that makes every parent strong enough to go through everything. Make them the strength and strive more for them as well.
