Ways to Create a Successful Marketing Plan

By Vito La Fata

In order to run a successful fitness business, you need to have a robust marketing plan. Do you have one? Are you aware of how to draw one up? You may need some help with strategy and content when it comes to a marketing blueprint for your business. Many people who own businesses struggle with this, so if you are one of them, you are in good company.

Not anymore. I'm going to share with you one of my favorite strategies that I coach my coaching clients on how to build their marketing calendar for the entire year. It's all about switching your mindset . The key to your company profitability and retention doesn't lie in the easy sale. It lies in the relationships you develop. And the best way to solidify a relationship is to build trust.

You see, you clients must have time to get to know you and to trust you. This is hard for big gyms to do, but it is not that hard for you to do. Be patient and start selling them small packages at first, and then you can lead up to the larger offers that you have.

Another thing to keep in mind is that clients need easy ways to understand the science, behavior modification and health tips that will help them to transform themselves into fit people. However, as fitness professionals, we have to be careful with the "Curse of Knowledge."

What is the "Curse of Knowledge?" The curse of knowledge is when you know too much about a topic and can see it from the 40,000 foot view, in complete abstract and as if you always knew everything about it. It always makes sense to you; you see every intricacy and foot note.

However, the regular person does not have that knowledge. It is hard for them to grasp certain things. So, try to be aware of the curse of knowledge and take the time to explain things to them carefully so that they do not become frustrated and decided not to come back to your studio.
