Super Lube Supreme From Schaeffer Lubricants Provides Excellent Wear Protection For Power-Shift Transmissions

By Lessie Kaufman

A top quality lubricant that is specifically formulated for the drive-train and hydraulics of a range of construction and mining equipment is Super Lube Supreme. This oil has been developed by schaeffer lubricants, and is most suitable for lubricating front end loaders, bulldozers, haul trucks, and other similar equipment.

Drive-trains used in today's equipment are highly sophisticated, and utilize advanced materials that allow for improved power transfer. They need specially designed fluids so that friction performance, oxidation stability, wear protection, and material compatibility are improved. Super Lube Supreme actually does more than these minimum requirements; it contributes to a longer life for the friction discs in power-shift transmissions, better shift handling, and reduction of wear.

The kind of additive system used with lubricating fluids for power-shift transmissions is important. If the wrong kind is used, negative effects will occur. The non-metal parts will wear out and, in turn, will cause changes in static and dynamic friction performance and, hence, parts will operate less efficiently. The transmission will begin to slip or stick, and become noisy. Wet brakes won't be as safe; stopping distances become longer, and the parked vehicle will be prone to a slipping or sticking transmission.

The best synthetic base fluids are mixed with paraffin base oils of the highest purity to create Super Lube Supreme. This oil provides many benefits, including reduced volatility, high oxidative stability and thermal stability, and thermal degradation resistance. The para-synthetic base fluid is mixed with a non-corrosive special additive to provide further protection from wear and hence longer lasting equipment. This additive works by creating a solid lubricating film on metal surfaces.

Super Lube Supreme, in combination with the special additive, delivers many performance benefits. The friction between the non-metallic and metallic parts of a power-shift transmission becomes more stable and is better controlled. There is also an elimination of noise, and the build up of sludge and varnish, which eventually leads to damage of the seals and clutch, is prevented or removed due to the high oxidative and thermal stability of the fluid.

The special formulation of Super Lube Supreme effectively eliminates clutch slippage, even when the vehicle is driven on a steep incline and carrying a heavy load. It also helps maintain the correct clutch setting without having to continually adjust equipment. Compatible with all commonly used seals and elastomeric materials found in power-shift transmissions, this superior stay-in-grade lubricant offers excellent shear stability, resulting in protection against wear over the long term.

Super Lube Supreme lubricant offers excellent resistance against rust and corrosion of copper. It also resists foaming, so that air does not get into the fluid and cause wear between metallic components from direct contact. Its exceptional fluidity at low temperatures allows vehicles to start more easily during cold weather, and better protects against wear from these conditions. Downtime is reduced, and the drain intervals are extended; this leads to longer equipment life and operation that is trouble free.

The specially formulated Super Lube Supreme is ideal for lubricating power-shift transmissions, transmissions that use a C-4 fluid, for example Allison transmissions, and also Meritor transmissions and Eaton-Roadranger transmissions. One caution is diesel engines; if the lubricant is used in these engines it will cause deterioration due to heavy deposits that will accumulate on the pistons.
