The Finer Points Of Arab News Online

By Nancy Clark

Humankind is at a distinct disadvantage, at least in terms of physical ability. Pretty much every animal of comparable mass has a distinct advantage in speed, strength, or natural weapons. Even among the great apes, humanity is weak. The chimp, which is much smaller than a human being, is around one and one half times stronger than a full grown man. But what humanity does have is its brain. It got this brain because evolution decided that humankind should have increased intelligence in exchange for muscular development. Of course, this intellect require stimulation, and reading Arab news online is a great way to get that stimulation.

The reasons that people follow the news are many and varied. For some, cracking open the newspaper, going on to a website, or a going to a television program is entertainment, something to do to pass the time. But some individuals need to keep up with the all the going ons of the world.

There is a level of convenience that the internet has that traditional media sources just do not have the capacity to meet. A reader can take in their information at their own pace, do so at leisure, without having to wait for anyone else to either catch up or slow down. This is why most younger people tend to go to the internet.

Information does not download directly into the mind. There has to be a medium of transfer. In most cases, this medium is the media. But the form that media takes can vary. Some people will read an article. Other people will watch a video. Most websites will cater to both kinds of people, and most individuals are actually a mix of both.

The thing about the internet is that basically anyone can put stuff on it. This leads to the problem of fake news. This is when stories that are not verified as being factually accurate, or outright untrue, are consumed by the very people who seek to expand their minds. There really is no way to combat this, as the sheer number of people online means that the charlatans are always going to have a fanbase.

Stories can spread like wildfire thanks to social media. A user can post whatever they want on their profile, and then the users who are friends or followers of the original will see that story. Once that story is seen, it can be spread among those other users, who will then spread it to their friends or followers. In effect, once a ball gets rolling, it cannot be stopped. It will just keep on rolling and rolling.

There are parts of the planet in which people more readily believe the worst about them. Some places that have been so battered by war and ethnic strife that if a nuclear bomb went off in there, no one would bat an eyelash at how crazy that sounds. Such is life.

But some places really are that bad. Crowds out shopping can get taken out by a single bomber with an explosive vest. A young girl can get shot because their parents deigned to educate them enough as not to be illiterate.

The planet can be rather cruel. It can be harsh. Keeping up with that harshness can be exhausting. But it can be done.
