The fact is that you need the help of a trainer to perfect your skills and be ready to compete. However, most competitions are tough and require one to go above his or her normal skulls. There are many things that make a difference between top dancers and ordinary performers. First, avoid going for dancing classes when you are not prepared. It is important to have some time before the class starts to prepare yourself. Ensure that you hair is well done, you dress right for practice and you have mastered your previous lesson. You can only reap more from the classes if you are well prepared both mentally, and physically.

Also, the first few minutes before the dancing lessons start will require you do some warm ups. Warms are good as they are a way of preparing your body and mind. You do not have to be hard ion yourself during warm up. However, skipping warm ups is not right. Take time to warm up before you start your dance.

The other mistake is failing to focus during stretches. Most dancers are culprits to this, which is understandable. This is because people have a lot of things going on in their minds. However, you should try all you can to do your best to be attentive to your body while stretching so as to enhance your flexibility.

Also, never attend the classes for the sake of making sure that you do what you need to do. Great dancers know what they want. They set goals each day and work hard towards achieving these goals. Have a list of questions to ask your trainers and also be attentive to capture a new idea.

Also, the teacher in class can only give you fifteen percent of what you need to know. The rest seventy five percent is yours. You should wait until the next class to dance. Make dancing your lifestyle. No matter where you are, remember that you are a dancer.

Never be envious of your classmate or friends who seem to be more flexible than you. The fact is that you should learn from them and look forward to do what you can do best as well. Being a dancer does not mean that you cannot sit and watch other dance. It is important to see what others are doing as well.

Finally, avoid comparisons. The dancing environment is a fertile ground to compare your efforts with others. However, this might only hurt you in future. Comparing yourself hinders your ability to develop. You are gifted differently and you are unique ion your own ways.
