It is not easy to simply accept your loss after that special someone has died. You may find that you feel like the world has left you and you don't know where you are anymore. You may be walking around staring into space, not knowing what to do. You can do a lot of preparation, knowing someone is going to die and thinking you are ready for this. Group therapy has proven to be very effective because this is something that helps you to talk to others that are also grieving. You need the basic support during this time to help you get through the situation. Not everyone has a loving family to rely on. Not everyone has supportive friends either.

This is why it is necessary to keep in contact with a therapist so that you stay accountable and you have the support when you need it. You will benefit from the social skills in the beginning because most people have trouble socializing at this time. You will also work on how you can build more social skills and this will develop over time.
