An Overview Of International Gospel Ministries

By Goldie Booker

Worldwide evangelism is the goal of International gospel ministries. They persist even in countries and among cultures and religions that are hostile to their beliefs. Why do they do it? Because the Great Commission is a command from Jesus. 'Go to the people of all nations and make of them disciples...'.

Missionaries proclaim the gospel, the Good News, that Jesus died to atone for our sins. On the third day he rose from the dead thus opening the doors of heaven to those who accept his sacrifice by repenting of their sins and receiving Jesus as their savior.

The primary goal of missionaries is evangelism. In keeping with the biblical command to care for others and to be a light unto the world, missionaries also provide humanitarian assistance to those in need. They provide direct assistance by providing food to the hungry and shelter to those without any. Some are advocates for social and economic justice.

A unique belief of Christians is that God searches for us, that he desires a relationship with each and every one of us. God is saddened by the existence of hell but it must exist if mankind is to have free will. It is a place where the light and salvation of God has been refused.

God sent Jesus into the world, not to condemn the world but to save it. The only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus. Romans 10.14 says that faith comes by hearing. In response, evangelists work to proclaim the good news, so everyone will hear.

international gospel ministries spread the good news around the world in many different ways. It's not just traveling evangelists. Television and radio broadcasts, bibles and religious materials are translated into hundreds of different languages. The word goes out over the air, on paper, and via the internet. Correspondence courses provide bible study materials for believers the world over.
