More People Are Switching To Organic Deodorant

By Lisa Patterson

For years people have wondered about the difference between regular hygiene products and those that claim to be made from natural ingredients. Sometimes it can be hard to part with a brand that is familiar but often change may be necessary. Organic deodorant brands on the market are made to accommodate just about every preference and body type.

Many feel that a chemical or strong scent is the only way to fight against excessive sweating, or odors that occur after bathing. These days, natural products are not only safe but effective enough to use often. Those who have made the switch found little difference when it came to performance.

Most associate chemical free deodorants with something that has little effectiveness and smells funny. Popular scents that are floral, fresh or fruity are available in many forms. There also unscented versions that work just as well for others on the market. Whether a person sweats a little, or a lot, there is an effective formula that is free of aluminum and parabens.

Though aluminum salts and parabens may or may not have a direct effect on the average person, these are known as neurotoxins, or have been linked to cancer, respectively. While the average person is exposed to unsafe elements on a regular basis, things exposed to the skin can have the greatest impact over time. Many people ingest chemicals not knowing how their health may be compromised down the road.

One can reduce the aluminum in their body by converting to body care and hygiene products containing plants and minerals instead of chemicals. It may be possible to fight most major illnesses, like dementia, by having a diet that is rich with fresh ingredients. This will also help with body odor, which is caused by excess bacteria. Even better, scientists have discovered there is no harm in long term use of natural and organic hygiene products.

Some brands of natural deodorant are so potent that it is okay to skip a day or two. These will even remain effective after bathing. Usually creams are strong enough to withstand excessive perspiration and take the place of some powerful antiperspirants. Newer formulas will also not stain clothing or create streaks.

Other than stick varieties, there are also crystals, liquids and creams available. There are also a wider variety of scents on the market. From floral to fresh, and even sensitive skin, or unscented for those who prefer to not have a fragrance.

People who are athletic or just tend to sweat a lot may have to try one that works for them. Though organic brands seek healthy solutions for all lifestyles, it may take a little experimentation. It may be best to look for brands that are formulated for active lifestyles.

The average consumer looking to make the change should be on the lookout for brand looking to cash in. Some like to say their products are purely organic or natural but the label often says otherwise and may even contain ingredients to be avoided. When only extracts are used in combination with chemicals or preservatives, it cannot be labeled as organic under any circumstance. Packaging that contains the certified label is authentic because it has pure ingredients.
