Importance Of Aluminum Free Deodorant

By Lisa Snyder

The human body naturally eliminates chemicals in the form of toxins through the skin. These toxins result into a natural odor on the body, which can be very unpleasant in some cases. To prevent such odors, people often opt to use deodorants. People choose a specific deodorant and stick with it for the rest of their lives, always wearing wherever they go. For that reason, it is important to choose a product that lasts for a long time and still remains toxin free.

The talk about toxin free deodorants always cause people to think about one class of products. These class is the class of aluminum free deodorant products. Many claims have been put forward as to why avoidance of aluminium-based deodorants is important. One of these reasons is that they cause cancer. However, no evidence currently exists to link cancer to the products, even though research in that direction is ongoing.

However, many reasons still exist for avoiding these products and adopting natural alternatives in their place. First, aluminium-based products produce a sweet smell, which only masks the body odor. This is contrasted from the working mechanism of natural alternatives which contain baking soda. Baking soda is a better solution for body odor management because it prevents odor-causing bacteria from forming. Thus, they provide a better option for managing odor.

Even though there is a no solid evidence linking aluminium to cancer, there has been a strong correlation between Alzheimer disease and diseases caused by high aluminum content in the body. This could imply that high content of aluminium may cause Alzheimer disease. That makes it necessary to avoid consumption of aluminium, especially with the increase in the level of prevalence of Alzheimer disease. More young people are currently being affected by the disease.

Avoidance of aluminium-based deodorants is always advised for pregnant women. This is to avoid introducing toxins into the body. Chemical deodorants are supposed to be avoided just like smoking and drinking should be avoided. What enters into the body of the mother also enters of the infant. If the substance is harmful to the body of the mother, then its effect on the infant is even much worse.

The health of skin is improved by the use of natural deodorants. When applied for a long time, commercial deodorants result into wear and tear of the skin. This causes the skin to appear dry and chaffed. Similarly, chemical deodorants contain parabens, estrogenics, as part of their ingredients. Estrogens are absorbed through the skin surface and may cause hormonal imbalance within the body.

Some people have sensitive skins which may not do well with metal additives in deodorants. Application of these metals may result in heavy lumps, hives, and rashes among other effects. Chemical deodorants particularly cause adverse reaction. In contrast, natural products rarely cause adverse reactions in the skin when applied.

Finally, in terms of price comparison, natural products are relatively cheaper. That is why they are more worthwhile to consider. Stores that deal with related products sell them to the public. One should always check the list of ingredients on the container before purchasing.

When you have an effective aluminium free deodorant that really works using natural essential oils and bacteria fighting ingredients, like coconut oil and beeswax, there’s no need to use aluminum to stay odor-free!
