The Benefits Of Womens Spiritual Support Groups

By Gregory Scott

What is a support group? It differs based on one s religious affiliation and can be defined as determined amount of time that is spent trying to reconnect with one s spirituality as an individual and the time they have taken away from earthly and material things in order to feel closer to the deity in which they believe in. Womens spiritual support groups can take place for a few hours to even a predetermined amount of time such as a month.

But it does not end there, if one is interested in backpacking to the Himalayas for a retreat that is also fine. Provided that they have the funds. After all, a retreat is fundamentally, a subjective journey to undertake and if going to the mountains between China and India is what needs to be done in order to find oneself, than that s what should be done. After all, there are plenty of new experiences and teachable moments to be learnt along the journey.

Like a car that goes to service from time to time after a few thousand kilometers, so too will one be able to in essence take themselves to service by engaging in some time alone. Enough time to appreciate ones strengths and analyse their weakness in order to evaluate how they can make themselves a better person.

Embarking on a retreat is a great way for one to unplug from technology. Be it a laptop, cellphone or even the TV. Time spent away from technology and repurposed towards the self is great for the spirit.

As mentioned prior, meditation, yoga and different forms of martial arts are a good way to get spiritual but one method that is often overlooked and very easy is dancing. Dancing is not only good for one s health but their spirit because it pushes them to be honest with themselves and let loose from all the material ties that may be on their mind in order to perform and enjoy it to the fullest. Thus giving the form itself a chance to work as a means of help.

Confidence is key or at the very least a prerequisite required to partake in a retreat. One needs to have the confidence to let go of earthly burdens such as those often found in what will people think mentalities and immerse themselves fully in the desired method chosen to assist with their retreat.

How does one know that they have been to a good retreat? More often than not it is the feeling of a sense of renewal within the individual, a new sense of strength within their belief and a strong divinity towards their faith. A sense of strength and trust towards their feelings while he/she communicates with their God.

There are many benefits to retreats, these are but a few to help one in deciding whether to undertake such a journey, as nowadays religion forget to take care of our spiritual side and our soul battle to find his own way to talk to us.
