How To Find Baan Sathorn Chaophraya

By Rosella Campbell

Interested in buildings that seem to touch the sky? The best place to see Baan Sathorn Chaophraya is in Bangkok, Thailand. Flights to Bangkok from San Francisco, California, take between 20 and 24 hours and make at least one stop to refuel. From New York, the flight time is roughly the same. Clearly, this is not the kind of place to visit on a day trip if you live in the United States.

One of the most outstanding features of Bangkok is the impressive array of waterways that are used to move goods and people throughout the city. The most impressive is the Chao Phraya River, that bisects the city on the north/south axis. The system of roadways is also mesmerizing, with some highway interchanges piled two or even three high.

Bangkok is called a primate city. Not so much a section of the municipal zoo, a primate city is one where the next largest city is only half its size and less than half its significance on the world stage. Budapest, Vienna and London have all been described as primate cities. Primate cities do not exist in every country on the planet.

One of the city's many amazing attractions is a three-dimensional art museum called Art in Paradise. The exhibits here are imaginative, interactive and very, very funny. While some museums discourage or even forbid visitors taking photographs, Art in Paradise actively encourages it. The result is a camera full of hilarious memories.

If you have a morbid curiosity about forensic science, if you are a medical student or if you are just plain weird, then the Bangkok Forensic Museum is a must-see while you are in town. The museum is located inside the Siriraj Hospital and consists of half a dozen distinct exhibition rooms. Each one is stranger than the one before, and it doesn't even matter which order you visit them in! If you like to see organisms that parasitize man and see how each one affects human bodily organs, then this is definitely the place for you!

Another feature of this beautiful city is its high-rise, luxury condos. Some of the best ones are found on the banks of the river. There is nothing as exciting as waking up and opening your curtains to a full-length, room-wide window with an exquisitely panoramic view across the vast city.

The Bangkok Hospital Medical Center is one of the most technically sophisticated facilities on the planet. The Bangkok Heart Hospital has performed more than 1,500 surgeries and treated more than 40,000 patients since its opening in 2005. The International Hospital, where 28 different languages are spoken, is equipped to meet the social and cultural needs of a globally diverse population of people seeking the finest in medical care. Kyoto University, one of the world's most prestigious institutions of higher learning, has an office in the city of Bangkok.

Museums, waterways, skyscrapers. It is impossible to describe how much there is to see and experience in Bangkok, Thailand. It is quite possible that once you visit the place, you will want to go back again and again. If time does not permit endless vacations, there is always the option of finding a luxury condominium and moving to the city permanently.
