By Virginia Burns

Carpets are installed in indoor spaces to meet different purposes. Foremost, one can install carpets to decorate the room. If the purpose is meant for decoration, there are varieties of designs and colors to choose from. The design and colors may be chosen to attain a particular theme. This may also be done to reinforce the decor in the room. One must be careful with the color and design of the product when they intend to use it for decoration. When in search of Carpet clean Branson should be given priority.

Secondly, carpets are used to act as insulation. Carpets are spread on the floor so that they form an insulative layer. This layer helps to prevent heat loss from the space through the floor. Also, carpets make floors to be more comfortable to walk on. However, in order for carpets to do their job well, they need to be kept neat and tidy, and that is why carpet cleaning is very important.

There are a number of methods one can use to clean carpets. Each cleaning method is used for certain conditions. They also have their own advantages and disadvantages. Absorbent method also known as bonnet cleaning is the most commonly used method. This method is usually used for everyday maintenance and therefore it does not clean the carpet deeply.

In absorbent method, one starts cleaning the carpet by first vacuuming to remove the dust on the surface. Then a chemical liquid is sprayed on the carpet by using a hand pump or an electric sprayer. After spraying the solution, the carpet is then left alone for a few minutes. During this time, the chemical is allowed to react with dirt so that it can be easy to remove it. This period of time is called reaction time.

A bonnet machine is passed on the rug to help with impregnating the fibers that make the rug with the chemical solution. The bonnet is passed over the rug at 100-300 rpm. When the reaction time has elapsed, the bonnet equipment is again passed on the rug so that it picks up the chemical reagent together with the dirt in the carpet.

Bonnet cleaning is a fast method of cleaning carpets and this makes one of the major benefits that come with it. It may consume less than one hour to accomplish the entire cleaning process. Besides, the method costs less than wet cleaning. The duration needed for the carpet to dry and be ready to function is very short. When this process is applied on lightly soiled rugs, the best outcomes are normally attained.

Bonnet cleaning may be a cheap and fast method of cleaning but it also has its shortcomings. One of the shortcomings is the fact that it cannot be used to clean carpets that have a lot of dirt. The chemical reactant that is used to clean only infiltrates up to one-third of the fibers of the rug. For this reason, the solution is not able to reach the dirt that is deep inside the fibers. Another disadvantage of this method is that chemicals and dirt remain settled at the bottom of the fibers.

The top surface of the carpet may appear clean, but the underneath remains dirty due to accumulation of dirt at the bottom. With this, good breeding ground for microorganisms may be formed. Mixing this method with occasional wet cleaning is essential for the best results.
