An Online Marketing Company's Do's & Don'ts Of Using Soundcloud

By Paula Hess

SoundCloud, for those that don't know, is a social platform that focuses on music and audio streaming. You will be able to find a number of music tracks, podcasts, and sound clips if you know what to search for. Depending on your business, SoundCloud could be a major part of your business model as well. Online marketing companies across the board can agree, so here are a few do's & don'ts that you'd be wise to follow.

DO understand the importance of sharing. Just because you post high-quality content on SoundCloud doesn't mean that your work is cover. According to names such as www.fishbat.com, it's equally important to share your work on the various other social platforms you're active on. Not only will this create awareness, but it will increase the likelihood of your SoundCloud account seeing engagement. Social sharing is one of the many endeavors that an online marketing company can stress.

DON'T add content without visuals. If you'd like your content to be listened to and shared, you can't post it as is. You must be able to include pictures, which you can do for various pieces of content. For instance, if you're an independent artist and would like to share a track on your upcoming album, include art of said album to make it stand out. This will help you obtain even more attention on SoundCloud.

DO know that SEO is possible. You may not think that search engine optimization has a place on SoundCloud, but you'd be surprised by how much can be done in this regard. With every piece of content that you upload, you have the opportunity to include a description. This will allow you to implement relevant terms and keywords you'd like to rank for. Take advantage of this, as it will provide a substantial SEO boost in the long term.

DON'T forget about the Pro option. Did you know that SoundCloud has its own premium account option? This is known as SoundCloud Pro, which boasts several features for the monthly or yearly fee you must cover. These features include, but aren't limited to, advanced analytics and the ability to edit audio without losing likes, comments, or what have you. If you're planning on using this site extensively, the Pro option may be worth looking into.
