Apart from the removal of unwanted fat tissue, this procedure is also used to tighten redundant skin making it more youthful. Many clients now prefer this option to the traditional open technique. Patients are typically allowed home on the same day and heal a lot faster than is the case with the open procedure.

Laser liposuction is a procedure that is effective in both men and women though the number of women clients appears to be higher than that of men. The areas which may require a reduction in the amount of fat include the buttocks, the inner thighs, the anterior abdominal wall (tummy) or the neck. Laser liposuction is effective in both men and women. However, the number of women presenting as clients is much higher than that of their male counterparts. Some of the areas from which the fat may be removed, include the back of the neck, the abdominal region, the neck, thighs and the buttocks among others. The type of anesthesia that is to be used will be determined by the size of the area involved.

Laser is used to alter the distribution of fat both in the superficial and deep layers of the skin. At the deeper level, heat that is generated by the laser probe is used to liquefy the fat cells. The oils that are formed by the melting fat are suctioned under a vacuum. The laser is then used to injure the connective tissue fibers found in the dermal layer of the skin. The fibers will regenerate later to form stronger fibers.

In some areas, the fat layer is quite thin and not enough oils are released to warrant the use of suctioning. Whenever such areas are encountered, the fat is broken by laser but are not removed. They are reabsorbed by the body slowly over time. Examples of areas that may have this kind of fat layers include the face and the neck.

The scars that are associated with smartlipo are usually very small. This is a preferred outcome if the scars are in an exposed part of the body. The risk of bleeding and swelling is also fairly low because the laser has the ability to cause coagulation of bleeding vessels and reduce the amount of blood lost. You can resume your daily activities in a day or two following the procedure.

The results will be evident in a few days and more improvements will be seen in subsequent weeks. Ensure that you enroll in a physical exercise program and ensure that your diet is healthy with less fat and protein and more vegetables and fruits. Keep yourself well hydrated all the time.
